- In just nine years StrideOn Limited has gone from designing the most manoeuvrable knee walker and the versatile all terrain Orthomate knee scooter to helping thousands of people retain their independence whilst recovering from non-weight bearing injuries.
- Starting in 2011 from a garage in Taunton it now has representation in the UK, Australia, Republic of Ireland, Holland and Belgium. We have a sister organisation in the US and our machines are sold all around Europe.
- Director and head of design, Paul Smith, said: “I put our success down to our friendly team based on family and service values backed by our genuine wish to make a difference to our customers recovery in difficult circumstances. We are proud to be one of Britain’s many family owned businesses doing our best to create a future for those working with us and at the same time providing a useful means in which our customers can continue with the day to day activities whilst recovering.”
- Paul and fellow Director, Paul Archer, started the company after a conversation with Paul Archer’s father Ken (Ex Spitfire pilot) talking to his sister Dolly about their respective children and it transpired one Paul had a great idea and the other wanted to start a family business. As they say right place right time! Both Pauls’ soon realised that not all people could manage crutches and mobilisation post surgery was extremely difficult. They thought that if patients could retain their independence it would help speed up recovery and improve their wellbeing and now our customers constantly tell us exactly that.
- Paul Archer, Managing Director, said, “ That despite current difficulties with the Corona virus around the world we will continue to plan for further expansion and the desire to do this is driven by our customers responses to our products and the difference they have made to them.”
