Recovery from a lower limb injury can be challenging, especially for professional athletes who need to stay mobile while managing strict rehabilitation programmes. In this story, professional rugby players Will Trenholm and Will Joseph share their experiences of recovering from serious foot and ankle injuries, and how using a StrideOn knee walker helped them stay independent, reduce strain on their upper body, and continue moving confidently around their training environments. Supported by their medical team, this highlights how the right mobility aid can make a real difference during the most difficult stages of recovery.
Will JosephWill Joseph had a Chopart Injury in early December 2026. Having been immobilised in a boot in the early stages, the scooter became most helpful allowing him to transport around the training ground quickly between rehab, the gym and other aspects of his life as a Professional Rugby Player. This also allowed him to offload his upper limb compared to using crutches, which put increased load through the upper limb and can at times be unsafe on slippery flooring, especially in the winter months, allowing him to focus fully on his lower limb injury.
